How To Remove Fuel Pump Ring Without Tool

One of the most frustrating things about car ownership is having to go through the hassle of removing a fuel pump ring. Even if you have the right tools, it’s still a difficult process that can often lead to a lot of damage. If you don’t have the right tools and you’re desperate to get your fuel pump ring off, there is an easier way. In this blog post, we will show you how to remove a fuel pump ring without any tools at all. By following our simple steps, you will avoid any potential damage and get your car back on the road as quickly as possible.

What You’ll Need

If your car is experiencing trouble starting, you may need to remove the fuel pump ring. This is a relatively easy task that can be done without using a tool.

How to Remove the Fuel Pump Ring

If your car has an automatic fuel pump, you may need to remove the fuel pump ring to replace it. Alternatively, if your car has a manual fuel pump, you can usually unscrew the fuel pump from the gas tank. If your car doesn’t have a manual pump, or if you don’t know how to remove the ring, you may need to take it to a mechanic.

To remove the ring on an automatic fuel pump:
1. Remove the screws that secure the fuel filler cap and cover.
2. Lift off the cover.
3. Disconnect the hoses from the pump by pulling them out of their clips.
4. Push down on one end of each discharge hose until they snap into place in their respective openings on the bottom of the pump housing (1).
5. Use a putty knife to pry up one side of each discharger plate (2) and then pull them out of their slots in the housing (3). Be careful not to damage either end of each discharge hose as you do this.
6. Carefully remove the old fuel pump ring (4) and discard it. Install the new ring by pushing it into its groove in one end of each discharge hose and screwing it in place with two screws that you previously removed from beneath the housing (5). Snap into place both discharger plates (2) before re-securing them with screws that you removed

Tips for Success

If you are having trouble removing the fuel pump ring without a tool, there are several tips that can help. First, make sure to use a clean and dry surface to work on.
