Window rolling is a task that most of us take for granted. But, for people with disabilities or other limitations, manual rolling can be difficult and time-consuming. And, if you don’t do it right, your window may not roll up at all. In this blog post, we will show you how to manually roll up a power window in the easiest and simplest way possible. By following our steps, you will be able to roll up your windows with ease and without any frustration.
What You’ll Need
If you have a manual power window, it’s time to learn how to roll it up. It’s not hard, but there are a few things you’ll need before you start. The first is the right tools. You’ll need something to grab onto the power window cable and something to push down on the window. You can use your hand or a tool like a plunger.
The next thing you need to do is find the power window switch. This will be either on the door or in the drivers side console. Once you locate it, turn it off by pressing and holding down the button for three seconds. Next, unplug the power window wire from the switch.
Finally, place your tool on top of the power window cable and pull up on it until it comes out of the hole in the bottom of the door frame. Now press down on the window with your other hand so that it rolls up into place. Make sure that it’s secure by hitting it again with your tool if necessary
How to Roll Up A Power Window Yourself
In order to roll up a power window yourself, you will first need the correct tools. You will need a flat head screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, a power window motor removal tool, and a sheet of paper. To roll up the window, first remove the screws that hold the window in place. Next, use the flat head screwdriver to pry off the outer trim around the window. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the screws that hold in the motor. Finally, use the power window motor removal tool to remove the motor from the door. Once all of these are removed, fold up your paper template and use it as a guide to wrap around each end of the motor housing. Hold on to one end of the housing and using your other hand pull on both ends of your template until it reaches its full length. Once it is fully rolled up, re-attach your trim and screws and you’re ready to go!
